A resurfaced video shows Zohran Mamdani - the New York City mayoral candidate - bragging about having given taxpayer money to illegal immigrants.

Fox News reports that the video comes from June 2021.

At the time, Mamdani was a member of the New York assembly.

This is one of numerous resurfaced videos and statements that demonstrate just how far to the political left Mamdani is.

"The greatest victories"

This is how Mamdani, in the video, describes his securing of taxpayer money for illegal immigrants.

He said:

When I think of the greatest victories in Albany this year, I think the excluded workers fund, a fund that was created for undocumented workers who were locked out of unemployment at the federal level and at the state level.

Mamdani goes on to claim that "what this fund would do is provide some modicum of relief."

He continued:

And this fund was won in many ways because of the pressure brought by those that the state doesn't even recognize, the state does not even see. Without the pressure from those individuals, members of the state would never have taken this action because nothing happens because of benevolence, it happens because of pressure, as you know, and these workers made that very clear in the way that they organized and the victories they won.

Mamdani completely ignores the perspective of the taxpaying citizen.

Expect more of the same

Several years, of course, have passed since Mamdani made these remarks, but there is evidence that he has not changed his beliefs.

The evidence comes from his campaign website.

It states:

Zohran Mamdani will fight Trump’s attempts to gouge the working class, and deliver a city where everyone can afford a dignified life. He’ll ensure our immigrant New Yorkers are protected by strengthening our sanctuary city apparatus: getting ICE out of all City facilities and ending any cooperation, increasing legal support, and protecting all personal data.

This, of course, stands in direct opposition to the position of the Trump administration, and it has to be remembered that Trump was elected for his approach to illegal immigration, among others.

Suffice it to say that, should Mamdani become the next mayor of New York City, there may be some real clashes between him and Trump. The latest polling does suggest that Mamdani, despite revelations about his far-left beliefs, continues to lead the field of mayoral candidates in New York City. He is consistently winning against any opponent that is put up against him.
