VP Vance uses humorous GIF to show support for deportation of biased fashion critic who revealed illegal status

Derek Guy, a popular left-leaning fashion writer who often sharply critiques the wardrobe choices of conservatives and Republicans while granting a pass or making excuses for Democratic faux pas, outed himself over the weekend as an illegal alien amid the anti-ICE protests and riots in Los Angeles, California.

Vice President JD Vance, who has previously been targeted with harsh criticism of his dress style by the biased "Menswear" Guy, appeared to suggest on Monday that Guy could face deportation following the voluntary admission of his undocumented immigration status, Axios reported.

The allusion to deportation by Vance was made via a humorous GIF posted on X, which rather predictably sparked an outraged response from some in the left-leaning media.

Prominent left-leaning fashion writer reveals his illegal alien status

On Sunday, in response to the ongoing unrest in L.A. in opposition to ICE raids to apprehend criminal illegal aliens harbored by the sanctuary city, Guy wrote a lengthy pro-migrant diatribe on X in which he revealed himself to be an illegal alien as well.

According to Mediaite, Guy shared how his parents fled Vietnam during the 1968 Tet Offensive and ended up in Canada, after which his father took a job in the U.S., overstayed his temporary visa, and then brought his wife and son to live with him in America, supposedly without realizing that they were all violating immigration laws.

He went on to decry the Trump administration's enforcement of existing immigration laws as "inhumane," and ultimately concluded with his hope that "sharing this story helps push back against the idea that all undocumented immigrants are MS-13 members. I know many people in my position and they are all like your neighbors."

Vance appears to support Guy's deportation

There was an immediate and intense backlash on social media against Guy following his voluntary admission about his undocumented status, including many calls for his deportation.

One X user posted, "JD Vance I know you’re reading this and you have the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever."

VP Vance, who apparently did read the post, replied with a GIF of Hollywood actor Jack Nicholson grinning mischievously while nodding in the affirmative, which was clearly in relation to the suggestion that Guy should be deported.

For his part, Guy responded to Vance with photos of the vice president in an ill-fitting suit and shirt and wrote, "I think I can outrun you in these clothes," followed by a crack about the middle-class suit retailer Men's Wearhouse -- a likely dig at Vance's style of dress.

Guy has sharply criticized Vance's fashion choices in the past

Bear in mind that this is not the first time that VP Vance and the "Menswear" Guy have tangled, as it was less than a year ago that Guy attempted to trash and belittle the then-Ohio senator and vice presidential candidate for how he dressed.

In an article published in Politico, Guy criticized and dissected how Vance's wardrobe had shifted over the years from initially emulating the relaxed style of Silicon Valley tech investors to essentially copying President Donald Trump's signature style of a Navy blue suit paired with a red power tie.

To be sure, it is highly doubtful that Vance cared one bit about what Guy had to say about how he dresses, and odds are, he probably got a good chuckle out of the biased critique that followed his inclusion as Trump's running mate.

That said, if the Trump administration ultimately deports Guy, it will be because of his open admission of his illegality and not due to his incessant criticism of the fashion sense of the VP and other Republicans.
