VP Harris demands COVID tests for anyone older than 2 in Senate swearing-in photos

Kamala Harris will require the families and guests of all U.S. senators to get a negative COVID test result within 24 hours of taking pictures with her during Tuesday's swearing-in ceremony.

Children as young as two years old will be subject to the requirement, according to a memo Harris sent to new and current senators.

Harris can't let go of COVID theater

The message said that Harris looks "forward to welcoming your Senator on January 3, 2023, to the ceremonial reenactment for incoming and newly re-elected Senators in the Old Senate Chamber."

But not all will be welcome, as Grisella Martinez, the Director of Legislative Affairs in the Office of the Vice President, went on to point out.

"As you are aware, White House COVID-19 protocols require that anyone over two-years of age who will interact with the Vice President take a medically-administered antigen test within 24 hours prior to interaction, and receive a negative result."

Biden's pandemic hypocrisy

Despite Harris' theatrical hypervigilance, the Biden administration has been inconsistent on whether COVID remains an actual emergency.

On one hand, Biden has refused to revoke the state of emergency while using COVID as pretext to justify wiping away billions in student loan debt at the stroke of a pen.

On the other, Biden has touted progress, even going so far as to declare the pandemic "over," while pushing to end President Trump's Title 42 border policy, arguing the availability of "highly effective" vaccines and therapeutics renders the public health measure "obsolete."

But the memo from Harris said that those looking to take a picture with the veep, including children as young as two, must get tested "regardless of vaccination status."

Sheer lunacy

A source told Breitbart that some senators are considering skipping photos with Harris.

"This many years into the pandemic, especially as the Biden administration is in court currently trying to argue the pandemic is over and it should be allowed to lift Title 42 authority at the border, this is beyond ridiculous,” the source said.

“Senators’ children and grandchildren should not be subjected to this insanity so Kamala can pretend to care about fighting coronavirus. At what point does the madness end?”

While America has largely moved on from the COVID pandemic after nearly three years, Harris can't seem to let go of "public health" safety theater. But she's not alone.

Biden is continuing to defend vaccine mandates in court, and some liberal school districts are bringing back mask mandates.
