VP Harris mocked over failed attempt to be funny during university speech

If Vice President Kamala Harris wasn't already embarrassed enough after her devastating defeat at the ballot box last month, she's taking flak once again for finally emerging weeks after Election Day.

Since virtually disappearing after her election defeat at the hands of Donald Trump, Harris reemerged for a speech at Prince George's Community College in Maryland to encourage her young supporters not to lose hope, the Daily Mail reported

As it usually does, her speech took a turn for the worse when she referenced the early days of her campaign, pointing out a particular meme that poked fun at her bizarre and cringeworthy attempts at humor.

Harris tried to poke fun at herself, but it flopped, and video of the moment went viral.

What happened?

In what she tried to convey as a nod to her seemingly neverending word salads, Harris told the audience, "I ask you to remember the context in which you exist."

The video immediately went viral and countless social media users mocked her over the moment.

After her awkward attempt at a joke, Harris went on to try to encourage her younger supporters to "keep fighting" and never lose hope.

"Let me be very clear: No one can walk away. No one can walk away,' she said. 'We must stay in the fight, every one of us, including the fight for an economy that works, not just for those at the very top but for working people -- for all Americans," she said.

She added, "I challenge you to come back ready, ready to chart our path into the future, chin up, shoulders back and forever impatient for change."

"And be ready to get back to work fighting for opportunity and freedom, fighting for fairness and dignity, back to work fighting for this country we love and the future we share."

Torched on social media

It didn't take long for social media users to blast the vice president over her failed attempt at some self-reflective humor.

"I am thankful she has come out of hiding in her loser cave to remind us all how utterly vapid, vacuous and annoying she is," one social media user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "I'm so happy we dodged this bullet, but I'm also happy the cringe content continues."

Clearly, Harris isn't anywhere near as popular as she believes she still is, and it's showing.
