VP Harris shoots down calls to replace Biden on 2024 ticket

President Joe Biden's political future is hanging in the balance as the media begins to call out the administration on his obvious and embarrassing cognitive decline.

According to the Daily Mail, many in the Democratic Party are looking at Vice President Kamala Harris to replace Biden on the ticket and take on former President Donald Trump.

However, Harris spent some time this week attempting to shoot down those calls.

That happened even though many in the party believe she and her team are gearing up to take the top spot on the ticket for the November election, should the call come to do so.

What did she say?

"Now we always knew this election would be tough – and the past few days have been a reminder that running for President of the United States is never easy," Harris said at a campaign stop. "But the one thing we know about our President, Joe Biden, is that he is a fighter."

"And he is the first to say when you get knocked down you get back up. We all know – many of us know what that is. So we continue to fight and we will continue to organize and in November we will win," she added.

Interestingly, Harris glanced over Biden's disastrous debate performance and the fact that many within the Democratic Party have turned on the elderly president.

At a later event, Harris offered more words about the upcoming election.

"We are 118 days out from the election. And while many of us have been involved with these elections every four years and nearly every time we say, 'this is the one.' Well, this here is the one. This is the one. The most existential, consequential and important election of our lifetime,'" she said.

The idea of Harris being at the top of the ticket has been a radical change for the party because her polling numbers, prior to the debate, were as bad, if not worse, than Biden's.

What's next?

The White House has worked overtime to avoid and downplay the idea that Biden could actually be considering stepping down ahead of the November election

Several well-known Democrats have called on the president to step aside. Many believe those calls will intensify.

Some have even called on the vice president to use the 25th Amendment to push Biden out.

Only time will tell if Biden actually stays in and runs against Trump, but it's looking more unlikely by the day.
