VP Vance, Donald Trump Jr. lead the pack in early 2028 primary polls

While it's possible, it would take quite an effort for President Donald Trump to run for a third term in office -- and that's even if he would still want to do that at his age.

Naturally, the next best thing for most of the MAGA world would be Donald Trump Jr. following in his dad's footsteps, and new polls show that the idea of a President Donald Trump Jr. in 2028 is definitely not out of the realm of possibility, according to JustTheNews

Trump Jr. has some strong competition in Vice President J.D. Vance, who is currently the most likely Republican to take his boss's spot, according to the latest Center Square Voters' Voice Poll.

Vance and Trump Jr. both lead the polls in Republican early contenders for the nomination in 2028 -- two choices that MAGA fans can probably rest easy with.

What's going on?

While it's still over two years away, the next presidential election will be here before you know it, and the polling has officially begun.

As far as household names and the most popularity as far as the next Republican president is concerned, VP Vance easily led the way in the new poll, scoring 38% of support from Republicans if the primary were held today.

Notably, 41% of independents chose Vance as their pick if the primary were held today.

Donald Trump Jr. faired well in the poll, giving Vance a potential run for his money by garnering 26% of support from Republicans, meaning he trails Vance by only 12 points.

JustTheNews noted:

Vance and Trump Jr. were the only ones, however, to poll out of the single digits, while DeSantis and Rubio polled much closer to the other potential candidates at 6% and 4%.

Vance still dominates pretty much every other important demographic, making him the clear contender at the moment. He's also extremely popular with MAGA right now, which doesn't hurt.

Of the nine contenders, Vance performed best among Americans ages 45 and older, whites and other races besides Blacks and Hispanics. He secured 40% or more support, as well as those with a household income of $100,000 or less. He also nabbed 42% support from non-colleged-educated respondents. Those 65 and older favored Vance more than any other demographic, with 50% indicating they’d choose the vice president in 2028.

Vance gets the Dems

Usually, Democrats can count on winning the majority of the female vote. But that was until Vance was in the mix.

The poll noted:

And while Democrats typically win most of the female vote, Vance actually performed better among Republican and Independent females than males, securing 40% support from women to 36% from men.

Trump Jr. shined with the Hispanic and Black demographics, besting Vance at  3% and 21% to Vance’s 19% and 18%, respectively.

The bottom line is that both men would make excellent leaders, and could perhaps start off by forming the dream team Republican duo for the 2028 election. We'll see.
