Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) recently implied that his 2024 running mate - Vice President Kamala Harris - is not much different from her current boss, President Joe Biden. 

Walz made the admission, according to Breitbart News, in a recent interview with the ABC affiliate WPVI.

This comes as Harris and her presidential campaign have been trying to distance her from Biden's record, even though, technically speaking, it is her record as well.

Harris's 2024 rival, former President Donald Trump, has been attempting to capitalize on this point by arguing that Harris, as vice president, had the opportunity to implement many of her ideas over the past four years, but has failed to do so.

This was essentially Walz's message to voters about the differences between Biden and Harris.

WPVI host Brian Taff asked Walz:

How specifically do you turn the page — that’s the case you’re making about turning the page — on an administration that A. Vice President Harris is a part of, and that B., as recently as this week, she has been reluctant to criticize or say she would change anything about?

Walz immediately deflected.

He said:

Well, I think keeping in mind, the big difference here and the choice is going to be the difference between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, Donald Trump taking health care, taking reproductive rights, tax cuts to the wealthiest . . .

Walz, after this digression, finally said:

Right now, the difference between Kamala Harris and Joe Biden is not what they need to be concerned with. They need to be concerned with a Donald Trump who has said he would be a dictator on day one, said he would do a national abortion ban, said he would give tax cuts to the wealthiest. That’s the thing that they need to focus on, and that’s the message we’re taking.

That just about sums it up

Walz here not only admitted that there probably is not much of a difference between a Biden administration and a Harris administration, but he also admitted the truth about how he and Harris are attempting to win the 2024 presidential election.

It is not with positive messaging, that is, about how Harris will turn the country around for the better.

Instead, Harris and Walz are trying to win the election with negative messaging, such as by imploring voters to vote against Trump, or else . . .

The big question is whether this strategy can actually work - whether there are enough people in America who dislike Trump enough to vote for Harris over him even though Trump's record is far superior to that of Harris.

This is one of the big questions that will be answered in a few weeks.
