Whistleblower testimony against Hunter Biden confirmed by former FBI agent, say Republicans

A former FBI supervisory agent who was working on the Hunter Biden investigation has confirmed key details of whistleblower testimony about the DOJ cover-up of wrongdoing, House Republicans said Monday.

"Today, a former FBI supervisory special agent assigned to the FBI’s Wilmington office and the Biden criminal investigation confirmed key portions of the IRS whistleblower’s testimony," Committee Chair Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., said in a statement.

Comer said that the FBI agent confirmed that the night before the agent and whistleblower Gary Shapley, also an FBI agent, planned to interview Hunter Biden in late 2020, FBI headquarters tipped him off and also notified the Biden transition team.

In addition, the agents were told they had to wait for Hunter Biden's call before approaching him, and that call apparently never came. This resulted in the IRS and FBI not being able to interview Biden at all as part of the investigation.

"Two-tiered system of justice"

The Justice Department’s efforts to cover up for the Bidens reveals a two-tiered system of justice that sickens the American people. The Oversight Committee, along with the Judiciary Committee and Ways and Means Committee, will continue to seek the answers, transparency, and accountability that the American people demand and deserve," Comer said.

The agents were frustrated that Hunter Biden and the Biden transition team were tipped off about the interview, which was not part of their plan.

The agent who corroborated Shapely's whistleblower testimony said he had never been told to wait outside to be contacted by the subject of an investigation before.

The testimony adds to evidence that elements of what conservatives call the "deep state" conspired to shield Hunter Biden--and Joe Biden--from investigation into serious charges including covering up wrongdoing and blocking the investigation into various criminal activities, from gun violations to influence peddling.

Slow-walking investigation

Hunter ended up getting a sweetheart plea deal after the FBI and DOJ slow-walked the investigation and all of the most serious charges passed the statute of limitations.

They also managed not to question Joe Biden on anything, including whether he got payouts from foreign nationals and companies as "the big guy" or was involved in any of Hunter or other family members' business dealings, which may have amounted to a bribery scheme.

Comer said last week that the House investigation into FBI and DOJ foot-dragging and outright obfuscation is proceeding well and that accountability will be coming.

"Since taking the gavel in January, the Committee on Oversight and Accountability has made rapid progress in our investigation into the Biden family’s domestic and international business dealings to determine whether these activities compromise U.S. national security and President Biden’s ability to lead with impartiality," he said at the time.

Whistleblower testimony has been crucial in exposing the "weaponization of federal law enforcement power" and the Biden family wrongdoing it sought to hide, Comer said.

The DOJ continues to claim that its Hunter Biden investigation wasn't biased and that the investigation is "ongoing." Nothing to see here, right?
