White House denies Biden doesn't trust Kamala to handle debt ceiling

The diversity hire who lies on Joe Biden's behalf, Karine Jean-Pierre, lost her cool when asked why the president doesn't trust Kamala Harris to handle negotiations over the debt ceiling.

Rather than delegate that responsibility, Biden is cutting short an important international trip meant to demonstrate solidarity against China with America's Pacific allies.

Biden resumed negotiations on Monday upon landing in the United States, having returned from the G7 summit in Japan.

Trust issues?

At a briefing in Japan, Fox News' Peter Doocy noted that President Obama trusted Biden to negotiate the last time the country got this close to a default.

"Why doesn’t President Biden trust Vice President Harris to lead these negotiations while he’s in Asia?” Doocy asked.

Jean-Pierre said she "disagree[s] with the premise" as she insisted that Biden "entrusts the Vice President."

The press secretary said that Harris was at a recent meeting to discuss the debt ceiling with Biden and top congressional leaders, although that doesn't defeat the point that Biden doesn't trust Harris to negotiate alone.

"She has been in regular conversations, as well, and has been in — in conversations with the President. He has taken her consult and listened to her advice, as he always does on many issues. This is one of many issues. And so, that has not changed," she said.

Debt ceiling standoff

Since rising to the vice presidency, Harris hasn't done much but bring embarrassment to her office and the country. Indeed, she has surprised even Democrats with the inanity of her vapid ramblings on all manner of subjects.

Biden is said to be privately frustrated with his veep's incompetence and lack of initiative, but he has, one must imagine begrudgingly, decided to take Harris along for another run as he seeks re-election.

However plausibly, Biden has insisted that he is confident in Harris' competence, even saying she "hasn’t gotten the credit she deserves."

“She is really very, very good,” Biden told MSNBC. “And with everything going on, she hasn’t gotten the attention she deserves.”

Republicans have hammered Biden for refusing to compromise on his demand to lift the debt ceiling without conditions. Biden, meanwhile, has accused "MAGA Republicans" of risking a disastrous default by pushing for spending cuts.
