White House forced to correct 9 mistakes in Biden's Detroit speech
President Joe Biden's long standing penchant for making bizarre and nonsensical statements has all but confirmed rumors that he is experiencing mental decline.
A new report suggested this week that the president is now relying on corrected transcripts to keep him alive politically.
Biden said he was vice president during COVID pandemic
According to the Washington Examiner, the latest example of that phenomenon came following a speech the president delivered on May 19.
Biden at point claimed that President Barack Obama ordered him to visit Detroit during the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the fact that Obama left office four years before the pandemic began.

"And when I was vice president, things were kind of bad during the pandemic. And what happened was, Barack said to me, 'Go to Detroit and help fix it,'" Biden declared.
The Examiner noted that a White House transcript of the event changed the word "pandemic" to "recession." What's more, this was just one of nine corrections that the transcript contained.
Presidential historian: "It should be called the White House Mess team."
In another example, the president characterized those who participated in the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill as "erectionists." That term was first changed to "irrectionists" before finally becoming "insurrectionists."
The need for frequent corrections did not go unnoticed by presidential historian and Ronald Reagan biographer Craig Shirley.
He was quoted as telling the Examiner, "I've heard of cleaning up a president's mistakes, but this is ridiculous. It should be called the White House Mess team."
Meanwhile, a Daily Caller analysis published last month found that the White House was forced to correct Biden's missteps 148 times since the year began. In contrast, corrections of verbal mistakes made by former President Donald Trump were far less frequent.
Two thirds of adults think Biden lacks mental ability to serve as president
The results of an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll from March suggest that Biden's growing inability to function has also been observed by voters.
It found that 63% of American adults are either not very or not at all confident the president is mentally equipped to carry out his duties as president.
While this sentiment was expressed by 91% of Republicans and 80% of independent voters, only 32% of Democrats said they agreed with it.
