White House implements changes to Biden's walking routine to Marine One

The White House has changed President Joe Biden's walking routine to and from Marine One, the presidential helicopter.

This is according to a new report from Axios.

The report comes as the 2024 election draws ever nearer and as a large portion of the country continues to have concerns about Biden's mental and physical fitness.

It does appear that this change to Biden's routine was done to address some of 81-year-old Biden's physical problems.

The change:

Axios reports that, "Instead of walking across the South Lawn to and from Marine One by himself, [Biden is] now often surrounded by aides."

The change - which reportedly was Biden's idea - was just made a couple of weeks ago. Before that, during the first three years of his presidency, he walked by himself to Marine One.

The purpose of the change, according to the Axios, is to "draw less attention to the 81-year-old's halting and stiff gait."

Axios continues, "Some Biden advisers have told Axios they're concerned that videos of Biden walking and shuffling alone — especially across the grass — have highlighted his age."

In other words, it appears that the White House is actively trying to hide Biden's physical problems from American voters, just as they are actively trying to hide his mental problems by reducing his exposure to the public.

Background

This is one of numerous changes that the White House has made to Biden's Marine One and Air Force One routines in order to try to cut back on the sort of problems he was constantly running into.

"Aside from walking alongside others, aides have taken a variety of other measures to assist in the perception of Biden's health. Incidents where he has tripped and stumbled have led his team to take precautions, such as wearing Hoka sneakers with increased support," the Washington Examiner reports.

The outlet adds, "Biden also takes shorter stairs up to Air Force One."

If these were Biden's only problems, then it wouldn't be that big of a deal. But, his mental problems are even worse. Just this week, he, among other things, had a teleprompter gaffe, accidentally reading the instructions during his speech.

He said:

I see an America where we defend democracy, not diminish it. I see an America where we protect freedoms, not take them away. I see an economy that grows a lot in the bottom up where the wealthy pay their fair share, so we can have child care, paid leave and so much more, and still reduce the federal deficit and increase economic folks. Imagine what we could do next. Four more years, pause.
