White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre addressed concerns about the Biden family's business dealings with China on Wednesday, claiming they are "lies" spread by Republicans.

The response came to a question by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy during Wednesday's briefing.

The response

“Look, I’m just not going to respond to that from here. Look, we have heard from House Republicans for years and years and years how, how — the inaccuracies and lies when it comes to this issue,” Jean-Pierre said.

“And I don’t even know where to begin to even answer that question. Because, again, it’s been lies and lies and inaccuracy for the past couple of years and I’m just not going to get into it from here,” Jean-Pierre added.

Comer's response

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer responded to the White House's claims in a tweet pushing back on Biden's blame of Republicans.

"Where are the fact checkers?" Comer asked.

“President Biden says it’s ‘not true’ his family got $1 million from a Chinese energy company. @GOPOversight has the receipts,” Comer tweeted. “Numbers don’t lie, but [Biden] apparently does. Time for [Jean-Pierre] to correct the record.”

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) also exposed the concerns of Democrats in a tweet.

"The White House is getting nervous," Donalds wrote. "They're now sending out staffers to target members of @GOPoversight for investigating Biden's dealings."

"Biden is 'The Big Guy' & if he's benefitting from deals with China, it WOULD influence his decision making. The people deserve answers," he added.

The controversy is likely to continue as the oversight committee continues its investigation and brings more evidence to the public's attention concerning the Biden family's business dealings in China.
