Popular young YouTube star Philip Enewally, known as 'P2istheName', has died at 26
A popular YouTube streaming star recently passed away at a rather surprising young age, leaving his family, friends, and followers in disbelief.
Philip Enewally, perhaps better known by his online handle of P2istheName, was declared dead on Friday in California at the age of 26, according to the Daily Mail.
An investigation of his untimely death is ongoing by the Los Angeles County Coroner, and few details of the circumstances surrounding his passing have been revealed thus far.
Coroner's investigation is ongoing
Celebrity gossip site TMZ was the first to report that, per the L.A. County Coroner, Enewally had been "found dead on Friday in a mailroom," though few other details were released.
His death was confirmed on Saturday by an unidentified family member who said that he'd died the previous night and that the family desired privacy while they grieved the tragic loss.
The sad news quickly prompted an outpouring online of mournful condolences and tribute messages from the popular streamer's friends and fans.
No foul play suspected
A follow-up report from TMZ revealed that while the L.A. County Coroner's investigation remained ongoing, some of the details of the circumstances surrounding Enewally's death had been shared by anonymous law enforcement sources.
The biggest revelations were that no foul play was suspected and that there was no apparent evidence of alcohol or drug abuse, though the results of an autopsy and toxicology test are still pending. For now, at least, the death has been attributed to natural causes.
It was also revealed by the unnamed sources that Enewally was found unresponsive after collapsing to the ground in front of mailboxes at his L.A. apartment building by the property manager, who quickly called 911 to summon paramedics and the police.
Efforts were made to save the life of the YouTube star, but the attempts were futile, and he was ultimately declared dead at the scene.
From video game streamer to lifestyle influencer
Both the Daily Mail and TMZ reported that Enewally initially rose to fame a few years ago as a video game streamer and gained popularity with his own play as well as his instructional walkthrough videos that helped other players succeed in a variety of games.
After becoming famous and wealthy, Enewally launched his own branded clothing line, WallyCo, and further branched out to become known as more of a "young black millionaire" lifestyle influencer on social media than just a video game streamer.
The fun-filled and luxurious lifestyle he portrayed in recent videos may not have been as pleasant as some might think, however, as the Daily Mail noted that Enewally had recently revealed his struggles with declining viewership -- from multiple millions to just tens of thousands per video -- and whether he would continue to create content for YouTube going forward.
In fact, in one of the final few videos he posted just a few weeks ago, he announced that he planned to soon abandon L.A. and move to Atlanta, Georgia, albeit without fully explaining why.
