Zuckerberg caught on 'hot mic' during conversation with Trump

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was caught recently in an unflattering hot mic moment.

What's more is that the Daily Mail reports that it happened when Zuckerberg recently met with President Donald Trump.

Some on the political left are now trying to use this incident against Trump.

Here's what happened:

The incident took place on Thursday, when President Trump held a dinner for a number of high-profile individuals, including Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, the founder and CEO of Google, Sergey Brin, and Sundar Pichai, and OpenAI founder Sam Altman.

Zuckerberg, however, was there, and he found himself in an embarrassing situation.

The Daily Mail reports:

Trump asked the Meta CEO and founder how much he was planning on spending in the US during the televised event. 'Oh gosh, um, I think it's probably gonna be, something like, I don't know, at least $600 billion through '28, in the US, yeah,' he responded. Trump noted that it was a lot of money, and Zuckerberg confessed, 'Yeah, no it's significant'.

Zuckerberg was caught off guard, here, in more ways than one. First, he didn't seem to have a good answer to the question, and, second, he didn't realize that he was being recorded.

The Daily Mail reports:

Later on in the event, Zuckerberg was heard apologizing to Trump and admitting that he wasn't ready for the question. Trump laughed and told Melania, who was seated on his other side, that Zuckerberg wasn't prepared. 'I wasn't sure what number you wanted to go with,' Zuckerberg confessed.

Not all there

Zuckerberg, at the time of this writing, has not publicly commented on the situation.

As mentioned earlier, many on the left are now trying to exploit it as a situation in another wealthy individual is caught "sucking up to" Trump in order to get in his good graces.

Whatever the case may be, you may notice that a rather big name is missing from the list of moguls who attended the dinner, namely that of Elon Musk.

Musk, according to reports, was not in attendance.

It is unclear whether this has anything to do with the falling out between Musk and Trump. The reader will likely remember that the two got into a public spat after Musk started criticizing Trump's "big, beautiful bill."
