President-elect Donald Trump has already stunned the nation with his picks for his upcoming administration, with many calling it the "Avengers" of the political world.

His latest pick is no exception. According to the New York Post, Trump selected former Republican lawmaker and current Fox News contributor Sean Duffy as his Transportation Secretary.

Trump's selection of Duffy to lead his Transportation Department marks the second time he's selected Fox News talent for his administration, with Pete Hegseth selected last week as his pick for Defense Secretary.

Critics on the left have spent the past two weeks in a total meltdown over Trump's selections.

What's going on?

Aside from his career as a Republican lawmaker and Fox News and Fox Business talent, Duffy also served as a prosecutor in his home state of Wisconsin.

He currently hosts the evening Fox Business Network program “The Bottom Line." and often appears on Fox News Channel, where his wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, co-hosts "Fox & Friends Weekend."

President-elect Trump heaped praise on Duffy in his announcement.

Admired across the aisle, Sean worked with Democrats to clear extensive Legislative hurdles to build the largest road and bridge project in Minnesota History," Trump's statement read.

"The husband of a wonderful woman, Rachel Campos-Duffy, a STAR on Fox News, and the father of nine incredible children, Sean knows how important it is for families to be able to travel safely, and with peace of mind," the statement continued.

Social media reacts

Users across social media applauded Trump for picking Duffy to replace Pete Buttigieg, who will go down as one of the worst Transportation chiefs in modern history.

"What a blessing to have this faith filled man as our new secretary of Transportation. Nine kids is so great. America will have a solid future when all these grow up to adults," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Gorgeous family! Children are truly a gift from God. Such wonderful parents. Very grateful Sean was chosen by Trump today for a cabinet position."

Upon being selected, Duffy resigned from Fox News, effective immediately.
