Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr., allegedly hooked up with a Secret Service agent. 

This is the claim that is made by journalist Carol Leonnig in the book Zero Fail: The Rise And Fall Of The Secret Service. 

Background

For those less familiar with Vanessa Kay Trump, she is a former American model who was married to Donald Trump Jr. - the eldest son of former President Donald Trump - for more than a decade, from 2005 to their divorce in 2018.

In March 2018, the couple announced:

After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways. We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time.

The pair have five children together, ranging in age from 15 years old to 9 years old.

Initially, the divorce was uncontested, but, later on, this changed. The matter finally end up being resolved toward the end of 2018, when Donald Jr. and Vanessa reached a divorce settlement.

Both individuals have moved on, and Donald Jr. is currently engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, the attorney and television news personality. In fact, it was revealed that Donald Jr. and Guilfoyle were together before the divorce was even finalized.

The alleged affair

Vanessa Trump, apparently, didn't wait around either. In her book, Leonnig claims that Vanessa actually hooked up with a former Secret Service agent, who was assigned to protect Donald Trump during his presidency.

"Secret Service agents reported that Vanessa Trump had started dating on of the agents who had been assigned to her family," the book reads.

The details of this situation are unclear. The agent remains unidentified, and it is also not clear when this alleged affair took place.

But, just recently, the Daily Mail reported:

Vanessa Trump has been spotted driving in Florida with the same man who had served as her security detail back when her father-in-law was in the White House. The 46-year-old ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., was snapped leaving Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach on Tuesday with a very familiar male companion in the passenger seat of her SUV.

Coincidence or not?

It is also well-known that Donald Trump Jr., back in September of 2017 actually asked for his Secret Service protection to be "scaled back."

"Donald Trump Jr. is seeking to scale back his Secret Service protection, four sources familiar with Trump Jr.’s Secret Service protection confirmed," CNN reported.

Whether or not this request was related to Vanessa's alleged affair with an agent is unclear. But, there certainly does appear to be a lot of coincidences here.
