Chuck Schumer torched across social media over Father's Day 'grilling' selfie

More often than not, we're reminded of how embarrassing it is to watch elitist politicians attempt to portray themselves as a regular person.

That was evidenced once again over the weekend courtesy of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who posted a photo on Father's Day showing him attempting to work a BBQ grill.

However, Schumer took an absolute beating on social media for trying to fake as if he knows anything about a grill, as the photo proved he's probably never grilled a piece of meat in his life.

The photo was even mocked by Donald Trump Jr. and other conservatives who pointed out the error in Schumer's peculiar cooking method.

What happened?

"Our family has lived in an apartment building for all our years," Schumer wrote, "but my daughter and her wife just bought a house with a backyard and for the first time we’re having a barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill!"

Social media users quickly pointed out that Schumer, seen smiling and holding a spatula at the grill, had placed cheese slices on raw hamburger patties.

Hilariously, the Senate Democrat leader ultimately deleted the post, which made the situation even more humiliating for the wealthy politician who hasn't a clue about simple cooking techniques that most Americans are aware of.

Donald Trump Jr. was one of many who roasted Schumer for the embarrassing photo op, which proved that even the Democrat's handlers were clueless about how meat is grilled.

"I get that you’re playing to the masses but literally no one puts cheese on a raw beef patty. If you need help learning how to do basic grilling stuff let me know. Nice try relating though," Trump Jr. wrote on his X account.

Social media reacts

Schumer was thoroughly torched across social media, with many pointing out that regardless if the burgers were cooked properly or not, nobody there was going to eat them, as the caviar and filet mingnon was probably being prepared by the private chef inside the house.

Another X user wrote, "Reminds me of the Mike Pence video of him 'pumping his own gasoline' at a self-serve station like the rest of us. Big fail."

Honestly, these people would be much better off not even attempting to act like they're one of us, and stay in their elitist lanes.
