President Joe Biden's campaign is struggling, there's no doubt about it at this point. The poll numbers tell a shockingly depressing story for that side of the aisle.

Many believe that swing-state "deciders" will be key in choosing the next president, and Biden's campaign received terrible news this week regarding the level of support he's not receiving from that group.

According to The Hill, new polls reveal that swing state voters trust Trump to protect the USA from threats to democracy than they do President Biden.

The poll numbers are the latest hit to Biden's campaign as other polls continue to spell disaster for the elderly president.

What's going on?

A recent poll conducted by The Washington Post/Schar School surveyed voters in six swing states regarding who might be the best president to protect America from threats to democracy.

Those voters were labeled as "deciders," and the deciders overwhelmingly said they trust Trump over Biden on the issue.

The Hill noted:

It found that 38 percent of “deciders” said Trump would do a better job of handling threats of democracy to the U.S., while 29 percent said Biden and 23 percent said neither.

Roughly 60 percent of the group also said they are not satisfied at all with how democracy is working in the U.S.

The outlet added:

Those labeled as “deciders” include respondents who voted in the 2016 or 2020 election, are under the age of 25, have been registered to vote since 2022, are undecided and may not vote or someone who changed the party they support between 2016 and 2020.

It got even worse for Biden, as 44% of all swing state voters decided they trust Trump on the issue as opposed to 33% who trust Biden.

About 16% of the voters surveyed said they do not trust either of the candidates, and 7% said they trusted both presidents equally.

Before the debate

The poll is one of many that came prior to the first presidential debate, which many believe will have a profound impact on the election and how swing state voters ultimately vote in November.

Given that the election is expected to possibly be within razor-thin margins, every poll is presumably being watched closely by both campaigns.

Even post-conviction, Trump's polling numbers are holding strong, and he continues to raise record-setting amounts of money.

Biden's polling numbers continue to worsen, and many believe it's a tell-tale sign of who has the best chance at winning in November.
