In a shock to many, liberal Hollywood elites continue to push for President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election. 

Now, Breitbart News reports that Rob Reiner, the director and actor, is calling for Biden to "step down."

What makes this surprising, of course, is that some of these liberal Hollywood have been Biden's most loyal supporters, and this would include Reiner.

"Stop f****** around"

Reiner called for Biden to "step down" in a message that he posted to his X account on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

"It’s time to stop f****** around. If the Convicted Felon wins, we lose our Democracy. Joe Biden has effectively served US with honor, decency, and dignity. It’s time for Joe Biden to step down," Reiner wrote.

Breitbart explains why this is a particularly shocking move by Reiner.

"The stunning change of heart comes after Reiner has spent the last several years as one of Biden’s biggest entertainment industry supporters, even going as far as to once declare Biden to be the best president since Lyndon B. Johnson," the outlet reports.

It adds, "Reiner has served as a key fundraising bundler for Biden, funneling donations from celebrities and corporate Hollywood executives into Biden’s coffers. As recently as last week, in the aftermath of Biden’s humiliating debate performance, Reiner was still leading the parade by hosting Hollywood fundraisers. But behind the scenes, Reiner was less than cheerful."

Reiner is not alone

The Washington Examiner reports that, following Biden's poor performance at the first presidential debate, several celebrities have decided to no longer support Biden.

"[T]he June 27 debate was the nail in the coffin for Biden’s relationship with many Hollywood stars," the outlet reports.

It continues, "From Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, who has made $20 million in donations to the Democratic Party, to Disney heiress Abigail Disney, Biden has lost the support of many Hollywood moguls in the nine days since the debate."

The outlet goes on to explain how many of these liberal Hollywood elites have threatened to stop financially supporting Democrats until Biden is replaced on the Democratic Party's ticket.

Thus far, Biden has refused to give in to these calls for him to step down. It remains to be seen whether or not he can survive without the support of Hollywood.
