Ex-Jill Biden aide slams White House following Biden's press conference

A former aide to First Lady Jill Biden had some serious criticism for the White House after President Joe Biden's press conference.

The former aide is Michael LaRosa. He used to be Jill Biden's press secretary.

LaRosa voiced his criticism in a message that he posted to his X account on Friday, July 11, 2024, following Biden's press conference at NATO.

The press conference was another proving ground for Biden following his poor debate performance. The press conference was not a complete disaster for Biden, but it also has not done much to reassure Democrats that Biden can handle another four years in office.

"He's just that f****** good"

This situation started when White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates tried to claim that Biden's NATO press conference was a huge success.

Bates wrote, "To answer the question on everyone’s minds: No, Joe Biden does not have a doctorate in foreign affairs. He’s just that f****** good."

Suffice it to say that not everyone - not even all Biden supporters - saw the press conference as successful, let alone as successful as Bates tried to claim it was. Among those to question Bates' message was Republican communicator Sarah Matthews.

Matthews, in response to Bates, wrote, "1) Literally no one is asking that question right now. 2) It’s beneath the office to say “f******” from your official White House account. Do better."

It is at this point that LaRosa decided to get involved.

"An alternate universe"

In his message, LaRosa attempted to explain that he and some of his fellow Democrats are currently living in "two different versions of reality" - the Andrew Bates version and the other version that did not see Biden's press conference as a massive success.

"There are two different versions of reality in my party right now @SarahAMatthews1. The below is an alternate universe that MOST of us Dems are NOT actually living in," LaRosa wrote.

He continued, "Being coherent in his FIRST "big boy press conference" of 2024 is not exactly the bar most of us are looking for.... but clearly it's the bar for Biden set by his own staff ... and that is pretty 'f******' terrifying."

In case you missed the press conference, Biden did run into his fair share of problems, but it was not quite as bad as the first presidential debate.

Fox News reports:

While some Democrats rushed to defend Biden's NATO press conference, Republicans pointed to gaffes from the day, including a response from Biden where he referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as "Vice President Trump." Biden also introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as "President Putin" shortly before the press conference before correcting himself seconds later.
