Biden's extended vacation raises questions about who's REALLY running White House

By the looks of it, Joe Biden has all but evacuated the White House and relocated to Rehoboth Beach full-time.

The disgraced president, some would say former president, enjoyed a two-week vacation after giving his speech at the Democratic National Convention.

He was spotted last week at the beach in Delaware, leaving many to wonder who is running the country.

Biden's extended vacation

In July, Biden announced he would not seek a second term in a shocking about-face. He had spent three weeks insisting he would continue his bid after a disastrous debate performance that stunned the nation and shook the confidence of his own party.

Biden was then humiliated again at the Democratic National Convention, where his farewell speech was bumped out of primetime as he passed the torch to Kamala Harris.

He did not stick around to hear speeches from the Obamas, Harris, or Nancy Pelosi, who orchestrated the effort to force Biden off of the ticket.

After his DNC speech, Biden decamped to southern California, where he spent a week at the ranch of a Democratic donor. He then flew to his happy place - his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he enjoyed a week in the sand.

An American-Israeli hostage of Hamas, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, was confirmed killed this weekend as Biden sought refuge from the world. A statement from Biden's X account said he was "devastated and outraged" by the murder.

Who's in charge?

While Biden has not resigned the presidency, his glaring absence from his official duties has led to questions about who's in charge.

"Who is running the country?" Texas Republican Wesley Hunt said on X. "Joe Biden is on his second vacation in two weeks and Kamala Harris is preparing for her first interview in 40 days."

Biden's national security spokesman, John Kirby, assured Americans last week that Biden is never out of the loop, contrary to public appearances.

"The president is on vacation, but you can never unplug and from a job like that. Nor does he try to," Kirby said last Monday in a briefing with reporters.

"He's very much in command," he added.

There's no way Kirby believes that - and he must realize Americans aren't buying it either.

Biden returned from vacation Monday to campaign with Kamala Harris in Pittsburgh.
