Tim Walz accused of having an affair with daughter of communist official
Just when it seemed that the Harris campaign could not sink any lower, Kamala's running mate, Tim Walz, has been accused of carrying on a sexual relationship linking him to the Chinese communist party.
The Daily Mail published photos of Walz' alleged flame, 59-year-old Jenna Wang. The woman, who is the daughter of a top communist official, says they met on one of his teaching trips.
Tim Walz affair bombshell...
The Minnesota governor has faced scrutiny over his frequent travels to the communist country, which have raised questions about foreign influence.
According to Wang, she met Walz while he was teaching at a high school in Foshan, Guangdong Province. The then-25-year-old Walz approached Wang, a fellow English teacher, by removing her headphones and whispering into her ear, "You are very beautiful."
Walz showered her with compliments, telling her she spoke English like an American. She fell in love with the "handsome" American with a "big mouth," and they carried on a torrid affair.
"Tim was very passionate and very romantic. I can still remember dancing with him to our favorite song, Careless Whisper," Wang told Daily Mail.
"Like a prostitute"
As the relationship progressed, Walz would make public displays of intimacy that drew unwanted attention. Wang's father Bin Hui was a well-placed communist party leader, and Wang dreaded her relationship with a foreigner being discovered.
"People were staring at us. I tried to reject it because I was very afraid. Teachers were supposed to set an example," she said, recalling an instance when Walz fed her a pear in public.
The relationship broke up when Wang confronted Walz about marriage and he was unreceptive, leaving her feeling "like a prostitute."
Walz told Wang that she was using him to get a passport, which she found "offensive" and hurtful.
"I wasn't giving up my life and my position to move to Nebraska, a cold place in the middle of nowhere that most Chinese people had never heard of," she said.
"I was giving it up to be with Tim, to get married and start a family."
Walz's lies
It's not the first time Walz has been accused of ducking a commitment. Shortly after he was named as Harris' running mate, the National Guard vet fell under scrutiny for abandoning a deployment to Iraq.
During the vice-presidential debate, Walz called himself a "knucklehead" when confronted for lying about being in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square protests.
"Tim lied about Tiananmen Square and he's lied about other things," Wang told the Daily Mail. "This is a very crucial moment in history and a man like this does not appear to have the character and integrity to do one of the most important jobs in the world."
