Former President Donald Trump made headlines this past weekend when he hosted a massive rally at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign quickly likened the gathering to a Nazi event, something which brought charges of antisemitism from her critics.

Tim Walz draws "direct parallel" to Nazis

According to Fox News, Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz attempted to draw a parallel between Trump's speech and a function held at Madison Square Garden by Nazi organizer Fritz Julius Kuhn in 1939.

"Donald Trump's got this big rally going at Madison Square Garden," Fox News quoted the vice president's running mate as saying.

"There's a direct parallel to a big rally that happened in the mid-1930s at Madison Square Garden. And don't think that he doesn't know for one second exactly what they're doing there," Walz said.

Meanwhile, Fox News noted that similar remarks were made about Trump's rally by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

"What the hell is wrong with these people?"

Those words brought condemnation from former New York Democratic state lawmaker Dov Hikind, who founded the group Americans Against Antisemitism.

The organization describes itself as "a broad cross-section of Americans who are prepared to combat growing antisemitism when and where it’s needed most."

Fox News noted that Hikind took issue with Clinton and Walz's Nazi comparison in a video which was posted to social media.

"My God, what the hell is wrong with these people?" Hikind demanded. "This desperation on the part of Hillary Clinton and Harris calling Donald Trump a fascist."

"Madison Square Garden. Half the place is going to be Jews there to support Donald Trump," he added. "They are so freaking desperate and they are ready to destroy America," he continued.

"The Democratic Party has become so radicalized"

"So much of the Jewish community committed to Israel is supporting Donald Trump. To compare him to Nazis, the event at Madison Square Garden. Shame on them. Shame," Hikind went on to add.

Hikind also posted a video last year in which he explained his decision to switch parties, stating, "Unfortunately, the Democratic Party has become so radicalized, so radical, run by the radicals, that people who are moderates or conservative Democrats are not welcomed in the Democratic Party."
