Secret Service admits it 'mistakenly assessed' risks at PA rally where Trump was shot

When even America's federal government is willing to admit they messed up, you know things are REALLY bad.

We know that agencies like the FBI LOVE to push responsibility onto others instead of taking accountability for their actions, but even they can't find a way to weasel out of this one.

America's Secret Service is admitting that they "'mistakenly assessed' risks in Butler before Trump assassination attempt," according to a report.

The failures started way before the day of the rally. To be honest, with all of these failures, it's a miracle that Donald Trump is still here.

Thomas Crooks

Thomas Crooks certainly seems to fit the definition of an "odd" fellow, but he never seemed completely off his rocker to those around him. Despite having access to Crook's internet searches, which Crook's friends and family did not, the government did not take proper action to protect Donald Trump.

It's been reported that Crooks spent a long time online searching for his political target, and a long time researching when and where he would take shots at this person. There were warning signs, but nobody from the government ever took a deeper look into Crooks.

As a result, Crooks was almost able to pull off one of the craziest things in American history.

Day of Shooting

Not only were there mistakes made BEFORE the day Trump was shot in the ear, the Secret Service still had a chance to stop Crooks the day of the assassination attempt. If proper security protocol had been followed, it's very likely that this shooting never would have occurred.

"At least a half hour before the rally began, local countersnipers assisting with security spotted Crooks on the AGR complex using a rangefinder to view the distance to the stage."

They did nothing.

"Two state and local agencies supporting the Butler rally with prior experience working with the Secret Service observed that agency planning for the Butler rally lacked detail, cohesion and clear understanding of who was in charge, all of which contributed to the overall lack of coordination," the Secret Service's report continued.

The part of the report that went public indicated that the Secret Service's internal review "identified several instances of behaviors and acts by multiple employees that warrant review for corrective counseling and, potentially, disciplinary action."

For the safety of our future leaders, let's hope so.

Donald Trump deserves better than this. So does the rest of America.
