Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) has landed himself in some hot water after appearing to call Elon Musk "gay."

The Harris-Walz campaign, according to the New York Posthas faced some significant pushback for this, and now the campaign is attempting to run cover for Walz.

Musk, a "gay guy"?

Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris's running mate in the 2024 presidential election, made the remark during a campaign stop on Friday

The Post reports:

“That guy, that gay guy. Michigan knows that word,” Walz said of Musk while talking about taxes on the campaign trail.

The outlet goes on to report that, "While the remark drew swift backlash on social media, Musk — who has become a vocal supporter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump — brushed it off."

Harris's campaign, though, did feel the need to attempt to spin the narrative for Walz.

The Post reports:

The Harris-Walz campaign told The Post Friday night that the Minnesota governor “stuttered” while trying to say “that guy got.” “In the video, you can hear someone in the crowd yell ‘dips–t! when the governor brings up Musk,” a campaign spokesman said. “The governor started laughing and stuttered while trying to say ‘that guy got’ — he did not refer to Elon as a gay guy. He got stuck on the G in that guy got while trying not to laugh at the remark from the crowd.”

Musk responds

First off, we have to point out that there is no indication that Musk is anything other than a heterosexual male. For the proof of this statement, all one has to do is consider the fact that he has reportedly had 12 children with three different women.

Musk, however, certainly does not need anyone to come to his defense. He has proven, time and again, that he is perfectly capable of handling these situations himself. Here is how he handled this one:

Musk, of course, was referring to a dubious remark that was recently made by President Joe Biden. Breitbart News reports:

During Biden’s remarks, he said he would like to “smack” Trump’s a**. Referencing Trump and his “Republican friends,” Biden said: “I’m serious. These are the kind of guys you’d like to smack in the a**.”

Suffice it to say that it has not been a strong conclusion to Harris's campaign. Many, in fact, have argued, persuasively, that Harris and her surrogates have done better campaigning for Trump than Trump has done for himself.
