Pro-Harris group served hungry Wisconsin union workers 'insulting' lunch: Report

Vice President Kamala Harris lost every swing state against President-elect Donald Trump, and it's starting to become clear why she may not have stood a chance to begin with.

According to the New York Post, a group in Wisconsin who campaigned for Harris decided to serve lunch to a group of union workers, which on the surface sounds like a nice gesture for voters who could swing the election one way or another.

As it would turn out, the lunches served to the hard-working union workers were described as "insulting," and were possibly prepared by prison inmates, reports indicated.

Workers who ate the so-called lunch had nothing nice to say about it and went into great detail regarding what exactly they were given, which wasn't much.

What happened?

“I mean, it’s not like we were expecting a steak dinner, but even sandwiches or barbecue — barbecue is like the favorite thing on construction sites — wouldn’t have felt so insulting," one of the union workers who attended the speech told the Post.

The outlet described reports of what the workers were reportedly served:

The uninspiring meal — consisting of a “single-slice-of-ham sandwich” on “stale” store-brand bread, a bag of chips and a “tiny apple” — was accompanied by an uninspiring speech, bashing former President Donald Trump, that workers building a $1 billion Microsoft data center in Racine County were subjected to on Oct. 21.

That same unnamed union worker believes that the group stumping for Harris were out-of-state iron workers, bought and paid for by the Harris campaign.

"As I opened my lunch, a man started to speak on a microphone to the 400 workers in the break area … basically said, ‘OK, because we bought all of you lunch, you have to listen to us,’” the union worker added.

He noted that the group was mainly interested in bashing Trump and certainly didn't focus on what Harris could do for America, saying it was mostly "Trump blah blah blah, screwed over the union workers that built his casino in Atlantic City."

Social media reacts

Users across social media reacted to the news of the embarrassing lunches, with some noting that the Harris campaign paid rich, elite celebrities millions of dollars and couldn't even provide a decent lunch for working-class Americans.

"At least the rap stars got a few million. Kamala knows how to take care of the important people," one X user wrote.

With reports like these, it's not difficult to understand why Harris didn't connect with working-class American voters.
