Melania Trump seen alongside her husband at Jimmy Carter's funeral
Incoming First Lady Melania Trump is widely known for having adopted a lower public profile than that held by many of her predecessors.
However, Mrs. Trump made a highly visible move this week when she traveled to Capitol Hill with her husband.
Mr. and Mrs. Trump attend Jimmy Carter's funeral
According to the Daily Mail, Mrs. Trump was seen accompanying President-elect Donald Trump in Washington D.C. on Thursday.
There they joined a host of other dignitaries at former President Jimmy Carter's funeral, with former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton also in attendance.
The soon-to-be first lady was clad in a black dress and held her husband's hand as they made their way through the Washington National Cathedral.
Carter passed away late last month at his home in Plains, Georgia. The Carter Center noted how at 100 years old, he was America's oldest former president.

"We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world," Fox News quoted an Amazon spokesperson as saying in a statement.

Mrs. Trump intends to focus on helping children
She told Fox News that writing the book was "an amazing journey filled with emotional highs and lows" as "each story shaped me into who I am today."
"Although daunting at times, the process has been incredibly rewarding, reminding me of my strength, and the beauty of sharing my truth," she added.
Mrs. Trump also said that she hopes to spend the next four years making sure children have the "support and resources they need to reach their full potential."
"My focus would continue to be creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn, grow and thrive," the incoming first lady stressed.
