President Donald Trump and wife Melania celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, and People magazine took the occasion to remember some of the 350 guests who attended the ceremony at Bethesda-at-the-Sea Episcopal Church and reception at Mar-A-Lago Resort.

The most "ironic" guests, according to the magazine, were President Bill Clinton and wife Hillary, who would become Donald Trump's rival in the 2016 presidential election.

Their wedding planner Preston Bailey told Women's Wear Daily that he never "in a million years" imagined that the Trumps would end up in the White House.

Attendees

Others who attended the wedding included leftist journalists Barbara Walters, Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Chris Matthews, Stone Phillips, Deborah Norville, Kelly Ripa, Kathy Lee Gifford, and Gayle King.

“I remember the press was just crazy waiting outside," Bailey noted to WWD.

Celebrities who attended included Tony Bennett, Richard Branson, Mohamed Al-Fayed, Steve Wynn, Donna Summer, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, Billy Joel, nd Russell Simmons.

Nonstop party

Bailey further described the wedding as a nonstop party.

"This was party, party, party and so social," continued Bailey, who said there was an afterparty by the pool. "There were a lot of cliques, everybody seemed to know each other. This party was really going. There was no downtime so to speak."

The wedding also cost a lot of money, which Donald Trump could well afford.

Trump's marriages

It was his third marriage, following Ivana Trump, the mother of Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka; and Marla Maples, the mother of Tiffany.

The divorce from Ivana came after she discovered that Trump was having an affair with Maples in 1989.

He was only married to Maples for a few years and met Melania during their separation and very public divorce.

That makes Melania his longest-lasting relationship. The two welcomed their son Barron Trump a year after the wedding.

Maybe the third time really is the charm.
