Lara Trump, President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law, has decided to take up singing.

The Daily Mail reports that Lara Trump "shocked her fans on Thursday when she released her very first song in collaboration with rapper French Montana.

It was indeed a surprise, but Trump, as we will see, is not giving up her day job - which is not to say that her singing is bad. Check it out:

The details

The Daily Mail provides some of the lyrics of the song.

It writes:

The daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump has seemingly ventured into the world of music after showcasing her vocals the new single No Days Off. Lara, 42, sings the lyrics which includes: 'I'm a little hard to read, you only know what they show you when you turn on the TV, so think of this as a reboot. I'm more than meets the eye, so many different sides you don't know about, I'm putting in the work, work, work, so many days and nights got me losing count.'

It would appear to be, at least slightly, autobiographical.

We all know that Lara Trump played a very significant role in helping her father-in-law to get elected in the 2024 presidential election. She helped to lead the Republican National Committee (RNC), which also helped Republicans to obtain control of both chambers of Congress.

The big question is what Lara Trump's future held - including whether she might venture deeper into politics by perhaps running for office.

Here's what has happened so far:

For a while, there was some talk of Lara Trump perhaps taking the U.S. Senate seat that was vacated by Marco Rubio, when he became the next Secretary of State. It would appear, however, that Lara Trump turned the offer down.

The Independent reports:

She told Time that she backed down for similar reasons as to why she didn’t run for an open Senate seat from North Carolina in 2022 – decisions she indebted to the responsibilities of motherhood. “After an incredible amount of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many, I have decided to remove my name from consideration for the United States Senate,” Lara Trump posted on X.

So, that did not work out. Something else, though, has worked out.

Lara Trump is now working for Fox News - in fact she's got her own show.

The Daily Caller reports:

Trump will host “My View With Lara Trump” on Saturdays at 9 pm, according to Fox. The slot had previously belonged to Kilmeade’s “One Nation” program, which will now air Sunday nights at 10 pm, the network announced.
