"A lethal kinetic strike"
President Trump captioned the above video with a statement describing the context of the situation.
He wrote:
On my Orders, the Secretary of War ordered a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization conducting narcotrafficking in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking illicit narcotics, and was transiting along a known narcotrafficking passage enroute to poison Americans.
The president goes on to reveal that "3 male narcterrorists" were on board when the missile struck.
He continued:
The strike killed 3 male narcoterrorists aboard the vessel, which was in international waters. No U.S. Forces were harmed in this strike.
"STOP SELLING FENTANYL, NARCOTICS, AND ILLEGAL DRUGS IN AMERICA, AND COMMITTING VIOLENCE AND TERRORISM AGAINST AMERICANS!!!" Trump concluded.
Trump takes action
Fox News notes that this strike "came just days after Trump announced the U.S. military had carried out its second strike on Venezuelan cartels as the administration continues its crackdown."
And that's not all.
The outlet goes on to recall how "Earlier this month, a U.S. military strike blew apart a Venezuelan drug boat in the southern Caribbean, leaving nearly a dozen suspected Tren de Aragua narco-terrorists dead."
Clearly, Trump is doing what he can to get the situation under control. The Daily Caller explains:
The strike conducted is the third of its kind just in the last month, as the administration ramps up its efforts to curb drug trafficking from Venezuela to the United States. In February, the Trump administration designated drug cartel groups like Tren de Aragua, Cartel de los Soles, the Sinaloa Cartel, and others as foreign terrorist organizations.
Trump, over the weekend, also called for Venezuela "to immediately accept all of the prisoners, and people from mental institutions, which includes the Worst in the World Insane Asylums, that Venezuelan 'Leadership' has forced into the United States of America."
