Trump said he was victim of 'three very sinister events' at UN General Assembly
President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump had a couple of bizarre situations unfold at the U.N. General Assembly building this week, and the president wants answers. Now.
According to the Associated Press, Trump this week said that he was the victim of "three very sinister events" at the assembly earlier this week, which included a suddenly malfunctioning escalator, a broken teleprompter, and audio issues.
The president, during his speech, excoriated the United Nations for "squandering its potential" and slammed several European countries for how they have handled the Russia-Ukraine war, and their open borders for immigrants that has caused major demographic shifts and serious crime issues.
The White House commented on the situations that happened to the Trumps that day and said the U.S. Secret Service is already looking into it.
What's going on?
The president, in his usual fashion, let loose on his Truth Social I couldn’t believe it was a coincidence; it raises safety concerns about this kind of meeting.account describing what took place that day, noting that he's especially thankful that he and Melania were not injured by the escalator incident.
He added that reporting from the day before indicated that there may have been a plot to purposely stop the escalators when he approached them that day.
"A REAL DISGRACE took place at the United Nations yesterday — Not one, not two, but three very sinister events! First, the escalator going up to the Main Speaking Floor came to a screeching halt. It stopped on a dime. It’s amazing that Melania and I didn’t fall forward onto the sharp edges of these steel steps, face first. It was only that we were each holding the handrail tightly or, it would have been a disaster," he wrote.
The president then spoke about his teleprompter and audio issues.
"Then, as I stood before a Television crowd of millions of people all over the World, and important Leaders in the Hall, my teleprompter didn’t work. It was stone cold dark," he wrote.
He added, "I then proceeded to make a Speech without a teleprompter, which kicked in about 15 minutes later. The good news is the Speech has gotten fantastic reviews. Maybe they appreciated the fact that very few people could have done what I did. And third, after making the Speech, I was told that the sound was completely off in the Auditorium where the Speech was made, that World Leaders, unless they used the interpreters’ earpieces, couldn’t hear a thing."
Social media responds
Trump's supporters weighed in on the situation, with many unhappy with what Trump experienced.

Another X user wrote, "Defund the expel the UN from our country."
Only time will tell what an investigation uncovers.
