NY attorney general faces another DOJ probe
New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) may soon be facing even more federal charges.
The Daily Caller reports that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating James for "selective enforcement" of the laws.
An example would be the case that James brought against the Trump Organization.
CBS asks President Trump if the indictments of James Comey, Letitia James, and John Bolton are “political retribution.”
He absolutely went off:
“You know what? You know who got indicted? The man you're looking at. I got indicted and I was innocent. And here I am because I was… pic.twitter.com/KtDalUDHWB

The details
The Daily Caller bases its report on court docuemnts that were unsealed on Friday.
Per the outlet:
In August 2025, it was widely reported that acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York John A. Sarcone III issued subpoenas related to James’s civil fraud case against Trump and his company, along with her case against the National Rifle Association (NRA) . . . James’s opposition to the DOJ’s subpoenas centers on alleged “retaliation by the Executive Branch, issues of state sovereignty and the purported improper appointment of the Northern District’s Acting U.S. Attorney,” the judge wrote.
Now, the court documents have been made public.
The outlet reports:
James’s effort to block subpoenas issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ) touches “on matters of national concern, with implications that stretch well beyond this action,” Judge Lorna Schofield, an Obama appointee, wrote in her order making the filings public Friday. “Unsealing this action is not only permissible but compelled,” the judge wrote. “One simple fact drives this conclusion: the information at issue is not secret.”
It ought to be noted that this is all separate from the mortgage fraud charges that James is facing.
Retribution or justice?
Many on the political left have been trying to argue that Trump is now using the DOJ to go after his political enemies.
The president, in fact, was asked about this during the recent "60 Minutes" interview that he did.
"You know what? You know who got indicted? The man you're looking at. I got indicted and I was innocent. And here I am because I was able to beat all of the nonsense that was thrown at me," Trump said.
He added, "A dirty cop like Comey or a guy like Bolton who I hear took records all over the place. Letitia James is a terrible dishonest person in my opinion."
Some have argued that Trump is jeopardizing the prosecution of these individuals by making such statements, but it would appear that the president is not concerned about this possibility.
