America's issues with China go beyond mere trade wars, economic policy, and the poison they sow with the last remaining bastion of a Marxist authoritarian state. China is actively trying to destroy the United States, and Trump is fully warranted to go hammer and tongs on them in any negotiations. More importantly, the rot that has been revealed is that China is exploiting the United States university system against us.

The latest proof comes from the FBI, which has arrested two Michigan students for smuggling biological pathogens into the United States. The Detroit News reports, "Federal agents have arrested a University of Michigan scholar from China on charges she tried to smuggle a biological pathogen into the United States characterized as a potential agricultural terrorism weapon that can be used for targeting food crops."

They continue, "Jian is a citizen of China who received a doctorate degree in plant pathogens from Zhejiang University, and investigators say they have discovered information describing her membership in and loyalty to the Chinese Communist Party. Prosecutors say she received money from a Chinese foundation funded largely by the Chinese government to conduct post-doctoral work, including research on a fungus known as Fusarium graminearum, a biological pathogen that can cause devastating diseases in crops."

They were caught smuggling the pathogen into the United States through airport security. According to FBI Director Kash Patel, "Both individuals have been charged with conspiracy, smuggling goods into the United States, false statements, and visa fraud."

It's the latest arrest we've seen on this front. The FBI also arrested and charged a Michigan student with voting illegally in the 2024 election. And before that, a Federal Reserve official was arrested for economic espionage on their behalf. He was leaking Federal Reserve secrets to the Chinese Communist Party, using universities to launder his covert meetings.

As if this wasn't shocking enough, The Wall Street Journal dropped the worst insult of all. They published a piece headlined: "Harvard Has Trained So Many Chinese Communist Officials, They Call It Their 'Party School'"

When they use the word party, they aren't talking about a college dorm get-together. The upper echelons of Chinese society, including the top leaders of the Chinese Communist Party, consider Harvard their personal institution. It's where they send their children.

And they laugh about it.

The Journal reports, "Harvard enjoys a sterling reputation among Chinese officials thanks to its record in training highflying bureaucrats who went on to take senior government roles and, in some cases, join the party's elite Politburo. Some observers dubbed Harvard a de facto' party school,' as the party's own training academies for promising bureaucrats are known."

The Journal adds insult to injury by citing Chinese state media, "If we were to rank the Chinese Communist Party's 'overseas party schools,' the one deserving top spot has to be Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government in the U.S."

China has had other programs as well. For several decades, China ran "Confucius Institutes" across the country at major universities. Once it became clear these places were little more than spying outlets, the U.S. government started shuttering them. Confucius Institutes kept tabs on Chinese students, spread propaganda, and stole U.S. university research.

In short, the United States higher education system has been seriously compromised by the Chinese Communist Party. We're educating our enemies, allowing them to steal right out from under our noses, and watching them laugh all the way back home.

In the meantime, Harvard's anti-Semitism crisis has worsened. These two things are related because China has specifically built an anti-semitism monstrosity in the same way it has done other things.

China has overtly helped fund Hamas propaganda in America and internationally. Writing about the issue, Seth Mandel soberly observed in 2024, "State sponsored anti-Semitism out of China has the potential to supercharge the current crisis. Considering the staying power of Soviet anti-Zionism, China may leave an unprecedented multi-generational legacy of Jew-hatred in the world."

The FBI's arrests are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to addressing the problem in higher education. The money, influence, and power the Chinese Communist Party has held over Harvard and other institutions like it for years is immense. Trump targeting it is a good thing.

This isn't a speech issue, an association issue, or anything else like Harvard claims. It's a national security problem where American higher education has aligned itself with China and lined its pockets with the blood money of a despicable communist regime.

Hopefully, these arrests will continue, and we will uproot the problem across the country. These are not isolated events. We must uproot the Chinese influence across the country.
