DANIEL VAUGHAN: What Did Biden's Doctor Know?

What did Biden's doctor know about his health, and when did he know it? That is the central question that should animate every investigation and inquiry into Joe Biden's tenure in the White House. The answer impacts everything, from the classified documents scandal to the 2024 election. The American people deserve and demand an answer.

The Biden family announced Sunday that Joe Biden had been diagnosed with an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer. Dr. Marc Siegel went on Fox News and described the extensive treatment required to overcome this diagnosis and the aggressive nature of the disease.

I wish the former President all the best in his fight against cancer, and I pray for him and his family. Cancer is awful in every respect.

However, our sympathy for the Biden family cannot overshadow the investigations demanded of the Biden administration. Multiple books are being released that question the primary narrative about Biden: that he is physically and mentally healthy.

Why would anyone trust this former President, his family, or his doctor to tell the truth?

On Friday, Axios released the audio from Robert Hur's interview with Joe Biden. The White House claimed that transcripts told you the whole story, but that is far from the truth. It is painful to hear Biden stumble over words and sentences, unable to remember things about his own son. Biden's failings flustered his own attorneys, and they panicked multiple times to interject answers for the President.

CNN commentator Van Jones, a noted Democrat, stated the obvious: "That wasn't the first time he was in that condition ... The book makes it very, very clear there are people who knew and said nothing. And that is a crime against this republic. I think the Democrats are going to pay for a long time for being a part of what is now being revealed to be a massive cover-up."

That book haunts everyone involved with the Biden administration. Axios reports that Chuck Schumer, Kamala Harris, and other Biden cabinet officials will face hard questions in the coming months and years about their role in covering up Biden's health decline.

And that's the critical part here: this is no longer a question about Biden's mental or physical decline due to age. He leaves office, and the first thing Americans learn about practically is that he has an advanced and aggressive form of prostate cancer.

After everything we've learned since he left office, and how Democrats forced him out of the office for Harris, why would anyone take the Biden family at face value about his health now? Why would we take any press secretary's statement at face value? More importantly, what role did Biden's doctor play in this cover-up?

Conservative activists noted that in 2022, Biden stumbled through a speech where he claimed to have cancer. The White House brushed off those claims as the President stumbling over his words, and it was just a verb tense issue.

Was it?

Or did Joe Biden actually have cancer then, and was being treated for it without the knowledge of the American people? It wouldn't be the first time something like this happened.

Woodrow Wilson's wife ran the White House after he experienced a debilitating stroke. FDR hid both his disability and failing health in the final years of his life. JFK hid his debilitating back pain and his addiction to opiates to deal with it.

Joe Biden is going to join this list. The only remaining questions about Biden are to what extent he hid his health issues and who told the lies for him. These issues cannot be hand-waved away as right-wing conspiracy theories, as the press did for four years. Actual journalists are dropping real evidence now, and Biden's diagnosis slams the door shut on any lingering doubts that he has active health problems.

This is the same President who had his staff cover up his declining physical and mental capacities. We have ample proof of that. This is the same President who had his staff attack Robert Hur, who, if anything, undersold what he witnessed when interviewing Biden. And this is the same President who asks everyone to now believe he just got a cancer diagnosis.

It's not believable, and you'd be naive to demand anyone believe otherwise. Americans can think and believe two things at once: we pray for Biden's safety and recovery, and demand he honestly answer questions about what he did to hide this and anything else related to his health in office.

No matter what Biden's defenders say in the press, these are not mutually exclusive points. We can and should do both.
