Actor Adrian Schiller unexpectedly passes away at 60

Fans of the iconic science fiction series "Doctor Who" were devastated this week by news that British star Adrian Schiller had abruptly passed away. 

According to the Daily Caller, the 60-year-old's death was confirmed in a statement provided by his long-time talent agency Scott Marshal Partners to People magazine.

Schiller's passing "was sudden and unexpected"

"It is with the heaviest and saddest hearts that we announce the death of our beloved client, Adrian Schiller, on Wednesday 3 April," the statement read.

"He has died far too soon, and we, his family and close friends are devastated by the loss. His death was sudden and unexpected and no further details around its cause are yet available," Schiller's talent agency explained.

The statement went on to add that "[h]is death was sudden and unexpected and no further details around its cause are yet available."

The Daily Caller noted that Schiller's sister Ginny posted a statement of her own to his account on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter.

Funeral plans have yet to be announced

"Dear all. This is Ginny. I'm so sorry to let you all know that our beloved brother Adrian died suddenly at home yesterday," she wrote.

"He had so many very dear friends - sorry to those of you who are learning about this here. We will say more about funeral and/or memorial plans in due course," Schiller's sister added.

National Theatre director Rufus Norris spoke up as well, saying, "We are deeply saddened and shocked to have lost our company member and friend."

Actor remembered as "a great soul"

Other tributes to Schiller quickly appeared online, including from director Samuel West, who wrote, "I'm numb at the news that Adrian Schiller has died suddenly."

West went on to hail Schiller as "great actor, and a great soul" before adding, "Whether it was Shakespeare, TV drama or new plays, he graced every company he was in and brought talent, fierce intelligence and huge heart to all he did."

The Daily Caller noted how in addition to playing the titular character on "Doctor Who," Schiller also appeared in a variety of other productions.

These included portraying Monsieur D'Arque in the 2017 film "Beauty and the Beast" as well as having a role in 2019's "Tolkien."
