The alleged assassin of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk had leftist political views.

This is what one of the alleged killer's classmates told The Guardian.

In case you missed it, the authorities arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson on Friday, in relation to Kirk's death. Since then, more and more information is being discovered about Robinson's background.

"Pretty left"

Although there are some who are trying to claim that Robinson was actually a Republican, the classmate, who has asked to remain anonymous, says that this is not the case.

The Guardian reports:

In a phone interview on Friday, one of Tyler Robinson’s high school friends, who asked to remain anonymous, said that the suspect was “pretty left on everything” and was “the only member of his family that was really leftist.”

This person said that Robinson became more and more political as he got older.

The outlet continues:

“The rest of his family was very hard Republican,” the friend said. Around sophomore year, the friend said, Robinson became more extreme in his political views and would “always just be ranting and arguing about them.”

Authorities do believe that Robinson's motivation was political.

There's more

More information about Robinson has been provided by the authorities.

The New York Post reports:

Robinson, a 22-year-old former student at Utah State University, was enraged over Kirk’s visit to Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, making his ire clear during a dinner with relatives days before he fatally shot the close friend of President Trump, authorities said. The suspect, who was not registered to any political party, went on to spout off about how he “didn’t like [Kirk] and the viewpoints he had,’’ said Utah Gov. Spencer Cox at a press briefing. A relative also shared what he didn’t like about Kirk — claiming the victim “was full of hate and spreading hate,” according to Cox and an affidavit.

Crime scene evidence would further suggest that Robinson's motivation was political.

The Post reports:

Three unfired casings found in the chamber of the rifle reportedly used by Robinson included left-wing slogans such as “Hey fascist! Catch!” engraved on the side along with an up arrow, a right arrow and three down arrows. Another featured the words “Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao,” referencing a popular Italian anti-fascist song, Cox said. A third casing, engraved “If you read this, you are gay LMAO [laughing my a– off]” was found in the chamber of the weapon, a Mauser model 98 bolt-action rifle with a scope mounted on it. The inscription on the fired casing read, “notices, bulges, OWO, what’s this?” Gov. Cox said.

There are still, however, many unknowns about Robinson.
