For much of the past two years, former President Donald Trump has been relentless in his campaign against President Joe Biden.

Yet as the New York Post pointed out, Trump recently took a moment to beam with pride for his youngest son.

Barron Trump greeted with cheers at rally

"This is a young man. He just turned 18 — oh, look at this," the former president said of Barron Trump at a rally in Florida on Tuesday evening.

"A very young man who is now going to college — got into every college he wanted to and he made his choice. He's a very good guy," the elder Trump continued.

"This is the first time he's ever done this, Barron … stand up," the former president declared as his son rose and waved to attendees.

"That’s the first time he’s done it. That’s the first time, right? You’re pretty popular. He might be more popular than Don and Eric, we got to talk about that," Trump said in reference to his two older sons, both of whom had spoken earlier in the evening.

Pundit: "The future of the Republican Party is Barron Trump"

"Welcome to the scene, Barron," the former president said as he drew to a close. He went on to add that Barron "had such a nice, easy life — now it's a little bit changed."

The former president's decision to highlight his youngest son drew attention on social media, including from conservative commentator Graham Allen, who wrote, "The future of the Republican Party is Barron Trump. Welcome to the fight."

The Post noted that for his part, Barron Trump has hitherto chosen to maintain a relatively low profile in the political realm.

That included turning down a request earlier this year that he serve as a delegate from Florida at the Republican National Convention.

Barron appeared alongside father in viral video

However, the youngest member of the Trump family recently appeared in a viral video which saw his father predict that President Biden will not be on the ballot in November.

"He just quit, you know—he’s quitting the race," the former president remarked as he sat in a golf cart with Barron looking on.

"I got him out of the—and that means we have Kamala," Trump declared, adding that the vice president is "so bad" and "so pathetic."
