Biden reaction to speech marred by microphone feedback prompts laughter from audience

President Joe Biden delivered a speech at the White House on Friday but only just barely as the event was marred by a technical issue.

The president elicited laughter from the audience on at least two occasions due to his reaction to substantial feedback problems with his microphone, the Daily Caller reported.

Biden's "significant" feedback problem

On Friday, in the East Room of the White House, President Biden delivered remarks on his administration's efforts to reduce healthcare costs for the American people, including eliminating so-called "junk fees" and "surprise" medical bills.

"And I have to thank my staff -- and I mean that sincerely -- for focusing on the healthcare piece. I didn’t know some of this," Biden said early on in his speech, just before being interrupted by some serious feedback in the speakers from the microphone.

"I thought I knew a hell of a lot about healthcare and -- no, I’ve been a significant ...," the president began to say as he leaned toward the microphone, only to recoil with a surprised look on his face from the feedback that prompted laughter from the audience.

"Sorry," the president added to more laughter as he completed his interrupted thought. "I’ve been a significant consumer, and my family has as well."

Biden cough causes feedback

Just a couple of moments later, the same feedback issue happened again, only this time it was precipitated by President Biden coughing into his hand right next to the microphones mounted on top of the presidential podium.

"You know, since I’ve been in office, we’ve been carrying out my economic vision --" Biden said right before he loudly coughed and caused more feedback in the speakers.

The president again appeared shocked at what had occurred and, as the audience laughed, he carefully and slowly moved a handheld microphone from the top of the podium to a shelf underneath, which only prompted even more laughter from the crowd gathered in the East Room.

A return of Biden's "creepy" whisper

While there didn't appear to be any additional feedback issues for the remainder of his speech, those weren't the only odd moments involving President Biden and the microphones, according to Rare.

Later on in his remarks, on a couple of different occasions, Biden resumed his rather "creepy" habit of leaning in close to the microphones and whispering while making a particular point.

Those instances also elicited some laughter from the audience, though in one case it involved the president telling a blatant lie that has been repeatedly debunked by even the mainstream media -- the claim that he personally reduced the annual deficit by $1.7 trillion, when in actuality it was reduced by the expiration of pandemic relief funding from prior years that he had nothing whatsoever to do with.

On an almost daily basis now, President Biden displays in some form or fashion just how incapable he is of effectively serving as leader of the United States and the free world more broadly, and while some may laugh at his at-times quirky behavior, what is happening to the country under his stewardship is not particularly funny at all.
