Joe Biden is in the fight for his political life after his disastrous debate performance last week, but it isn't just his future that is on the line.

Besides dragging down his entire party, the whole Biden family is facing the loss of their meal ticket, and for son Hunter - a convicted felon - there's a pardon at stake.

To many, it's not surprising that Hunter Biden wants his dad to continue with a re-election effort that many are beginning to see as hopeless.

Hunter's future at stake

According to the New York Times, Hunter Biden was one of the strongest advocates for his father staying in the arena during a Camp David meeting last weekend.

"Hunter Biden wants Americans to see the version of his father that he knows – scrappy and in command of the facts – rather than the stumbling, aging president Americans saw on Thursday night," the paper reported.

Joe Biden's wife, "Doctor" Jill Biden, also pushed her husband to stick it out. Jill has also made it clear in public that Joe is going nowhere if she can help it.

Jill Biden is featured on the latest cover of Vogue, a reminder of the glamorous life that the First Lady is perhaps loath to give up.

She used her magazine feature to double down on her obdurate insistence that Joe Biden can still do his job, despite what the public thinks.

The family sticks together

For Hunter Biden, there's more at stake than a glamorous lifestyle. The president's son was found guilty last month on gun charges, and another trial for tax evasion is in September.

While Joe Biden has pledged not to pardon his son, the coming weeks will test his commitment to that promise as Biden's odds of re-election seem to fade.

Meanwhile, the First Lady's influence over her husband is in the spotlight like never before, with her husband's decline out in public for all to see.

"The only person who has ultimate influence with him is the first lady," a source told NBC News. "If she decides there should be a change of course, there will be a change of course."

In another twist, the White House confirmed Tuesday that Hunter Biden was at a meeting the day before to help his dad prepare a speech about the Supreme Court's historic ruling on presidential immunity.

The more desperate Biden's position gets, the clearer it becomes that the "Biden crime family" is fighting for survival.
