A new report from Breitbart News highlights the fact that the late Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk appears to have predicted ex-FBI Director James Comey's indictment.

The Trump administration, last week, indicted Comey on three counts.

First, we'll get you up to speed on the case, and then we'll look at how Kirk appeared to see the writing on the wall for Comey.

Background

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged Comey with making a false statement within a jurisdiction of the legislative branch and with obstructing a congressional investigation.

The Daily Caller reports:

A CIA memo released in July reveals that Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan may have given false testimony when they claimed under oath that the Steele Dossier played no role in the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA). The memo, based on a June review, directly challenges their sworn statements.

Comey has already publicly responded to the charges.

In a video statement, he said:

My family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump, but we couldn’t imagine ourselves living any other way. We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn’t either. Somebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant, and she’s right. I’m not afraid, and I hope you’re not either.

Comey went on to say that he has "great confidence in the federal judicial system," and he professed his "innocence."

Kirk saw it coming

Breitbart reveals how Kirk "used his social media accounts in the years leading up to his death to expose former FBI Director James Comey."

The outlet reports:

In posts dating back to 2019, Kirk called for Comey’s impeachment for what he described as “creating a coup against Trump” and labeled him “the most corrupt FBI Director” during the Obama administration.

Breitbart proceeds to provide specific examples of Kirk's anti-Comey messaging.

The outlet writes:

One post from January 2020 compared Comey to actor Jussie Smollett, alleging both had “created fake narratives to try and destroy Donald Trump” and “avoided criminal charges.” That same month, Kirk pointed to a Justice Department probe into leaks of classified intelligence related to the Russia investigation, remarking, “Their focus? Disgraced former FBI Director Jim Comey. How many times does he have to be exposed as a liar & a leaker before he faces justice?”

Kirk thus would likely have viewed Comey's indictment as one step toward justice.
