Congressional Democrats blasts White House over drone situation

To the surprise of some, a congressional Democrat has come out against the Biden administration's handling of the mystery drone situation.

The Democrat, according to Breitbart News, is U.S. Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).

This comes after large drones have been spotted hovering over various parts of the country, including the New York/New Jersey area.

This has led to a massive controversy, as, thus far, the government is refusing to reveal what exactly is happening.

"Quite dissatisfied"

If there is one thing that can unite congress members, it is when they are left in the dark about something that the government is up to. This is why it is not that surprising that Gillibrand and other Democrats are speaking out on this situation.

She did so during a recent appearance on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports.

There, she said:

We know very little about these drones, which is the problem. We don’t know who is sending them, who’s controlling them, whether they are spying, whether they are sighting targets for future action. We have no idea the purpose of these drones, who’s controlling them, and whether they are putting the American people at risk.

This is why Gillibrand says she has sent a letter to various agencies, including Homeland Security, trying to get more information on the situation.

She said:

If there are ships off the coast that are launching these drones, we need to know who is controlling those ships, whether they’re foreign adversaries. We know, Andrea, that Iran, that China, that Russia have extremely sophisticated drone capabilities. We’ve seen drones used as a weapon of war in Ukraine. And so, these are the reasons why I have high concerns and am quite dissatisfied by the response by Homeland Security, the FBI, and FAA to my request that we need to have answers . . .

Biden admin continues to play dumb

Thus far, the Biden administration has refused to tell the American people the truth about the situation.

In fact, they seem to be trying to claim that they do not really know what the truth is.

The latest statement, from the administration, on the situation came from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Here is part of what he had to say on Sunday:

There are thousands of drones flown every day in the United States, recreational drones, commercial drones. That is the reality, and in September of 2023, the Federal Aviation Administration, the FAA, changed the rules so that drones could fly at night, and that may be one of the reasons why now people are seeing more drones than they did before, especially from dawn to dusk. So that is the reality, but I want to assure the American public that we are on it.

Suffice it to say that many have not found this statement reassuring.
