Congresswoman claims she has inside knowledge that Biden will be replaced

President Joe Biden will not be the Democratic Party's presidential nominee in the 2024 election.

At least this, according to Mediaite, is what U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is claiming.

Luna, of course, is not the only one making this claim. There, in fact, is a large part of the country that continues to speculate about whether Biden, given his current health condition, will make it to the 2024 election.

What makes Luna's claim different, however, is that she claims to have proof that a replacement scheme for Biden is in the works.

"Biden's . . . not going to be the nominee"

Luna spoke about the possibility of Biden being replaced during a recent appearance on the Fox News Channel's Jesse Watters Primetime. There, she claimed that lawmakers have been "hearing" that Biden will not be the Democrats' presidential nominee.

"[A] lot of people realize that Joe Biden’s likely not going to be the nominee, which is from what we’re hearing on Capitol Hill, Jesse. You know, Representative Kiley had reported that Kamala Harris actually eyeing a run for California governor because of it."

There were, indeed, reports to this effect, that Vice President Kamala Harris is thinking about running for governor of California. The veracity of these reports, however, is unclear. This, of course, would be hard to do if Biden wins the 2024 election and she is his vice president - which is what Luna was getting at.

At this point in the interview, Watters asked, "So, you are hearing also in D.C. that Joe Biden isn’t going to be the Democrat nominee?"

Luna answered in the affirmative, saying:

Correct. It appears that our colleagues are trying to put guardrails on a 2024 presidential election with President Trump. And also what you’re seeing is, according to our polling, you know, Jesse, as well as I do, that they’ve been trying to really paint Republicans as anti-woman, and they’re trying to push an abortion, crisis right now with the election. And I don’t think that that’s the case. A lot of the American people know that really. This is a state rights decision. And so I think that they know that they’re losing. It’s very evident at this point.

If not Biden, then who?

This is the big question, and there is no obvious answer.

At the moment, it appears that Harris is the name that is being floated by many. But, given her historical lack of popularity, it is hard to believe that she is a viable presidential candidate.

Other names that have been suggested are California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and former First Lady Michelle Obama. But, both have insisted that this will not happen, which might be part of the reason why the speculation has so strongly shifted to Harris.

What this all underscores is that the Democrats have a big problem heading into this and future elections.

Unlike the Republicans, their bench just isn't very deep.
