DHS secretary ignores request for information about illegal alien parole numbers

Last month, a group of Republican lawmakers sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas requesting information about the ongoing migrant crisis along America's southern border.

It appears that the Biden administration would prefer to hide the facts, however, as Mayorkas is ignoring their requests.

"Over a million inadmissible aliens" granted parole

According to Breitbart, the DHS secretary was asked to explain how many illegal aliens have been admitted into the United States via parole and gave him until July 7 to respond.

They pointed out how "over a million inadmissible aliens" have been paroled over the past two years,  including "illegal border crossers apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents as well as inadmissible aliens presenting themselves at ports of entry after making appointments through the CBP One mobile application."

"Reports indicate that 99% of inadmissible aliens who applied for an appointment through the CBP One app were ultimately approved for parole," the lawmakers continued.

"More recently, DHS announced that it would implement a lottery-type system, meaning half of those applying for parole at ports of entry will be selected at random due to 'high interest' in the program," they noted.

"Massive scheduling backlogs"

"Illegal aliens given unlawful categorical parole through these programs will likely live in the United States for years before they are issued a Notice to Appear (NTA) in immigration court given the massive scheduling backlogs at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) offices," the representatives pointed out.

They went on to complain that "ICE offices across the country are backlogged for new appointments to process these aliens, in many cases for four years, with two offices fully booked through May 2028 and another fully booked through May 2029."

What's more, the Republicans called on Mayorkas to provide "all documents and communications containing any numerical accounting" of illegal aliens given parole to enter the U.S. through Biden’s migrant mobile app along with those who crossed between ports of entry.

Despite providing the secretary with a July 7 deadline, Breitbart stressed that Mayorkas had still provided no information as of this week.

Illegal alien on FBI terror list released by DHS

That stonewalling comes roughly two weeks after DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari put out a report in which he revealed that the department released an illegal alien on the FBI's terror watch list who subsequently boarded a plane.

Breitbart identified the individual in question as Colombian national Isnardo Garcia Amado, who was released in California April 19, 2022 two days after being apprehended near Yuma, Arizona.

John Fabbricatore is a former ICE Field Office director who now serves on the National Immigration Center for Enforcement (NICE), and he decried the way Abado's case was handled.

"It is a stark reminder of the Biden Administration’s agenda that is making our borders less secure, and communities less safe,” Fabbricatore was quoted as saying.

" A free people [claim] their rights, as derived from the laws of nature."
