Emails reveal White House altered Biden's 'garbage' remark

Messages reveal that the White House actually altered the transcript of President Joe Biden's recent remarks.

These were the same remarks in which he, quite clearly, called those who support former President Donald Trump "garbage."

Fox News was able to view the email messages in which, according to the outlet, "a supervisor sounded the alarm on the White House press office's 'breach of protocol and spoilation of transcript integrity between the Stenography and Press Offices.'"

This whole situation has blown up big time on Vice President Kamala Harris with the 2024 presidential election just days away.

Background

The incident took place on Tuesday, when Biden participated in a campaign call with Voto Latino on behalf of Harris. And, this followed the incident at Trump's recent Madison Square Garden rally, where an insult comedian made a joke in which he referred to Puerto Rico as a "floating island of garbage."

Biden, apparently, tried to one-up the comedian. During the call, he said, "The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it is un-American."

The key word here is "supporters."

Fox explains:

The transcript submitted by White House stenographers originally wrote the word as "supporters." However, the transcript released by the White House press office had it read "supporter's" with an apostrophe instead, implying Biden was criticizing Hinchcliffe [the comedian] and not all Trump voters.

The only problem is that Biden's remarks are on video and everyone knows what he said.

Biden attempts to backtrack

In addition to the White House's attempt to cover for Biden, Biden himself also released a statement on the matter.

He said:

Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump's supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That's all I meant to say. The comments at that rally don't reflect who we are as a nation.

The damage, however, has been done, and many are comparing Biden's remarks to when Hillary Clinton called Trump supporters "deplorable" and "irredeemable."

The New York Post reports:

A former White House stenographer told The Post Friday that they can not recall a single instance of the presidential press office altering a transcript to soften inflammatory or embarrassing remarks —

The Democrats' attempt to control what the American people know continues to reach to heights.
