Breitbart reported that federal agents have raided homes in California and Florida belonging to rap music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.

The raids took place on Monday at a home in Los Angeles' Holmby Hills neighborhood as well as at a property Combs owns in Miami.

Raid conducted by Department of Homeland Security

According to Fox News, the raids were carried out by Department of Homeland Security personnel in connection with a sex trafficking investigation.

"Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners. We will provide further information as it becomes available," a Homeland Security Investigations statement was quoted as saying.

Douglas Wigdor is an attorney who represents Combs' former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, and he issued a statement of his own to Fox News.

"We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct," Wigdor declared.

Former girlfriend accused Combs of rape, physical abuse

Fox News recalled how Ventura filed a lawsuit against Combs late last year in which she accused the music legend of physically and sexually abusing her.

This includes allegations that he regularly raped Ventura over the course of a decade as well as subjecting her to "violent behavior and disturbed demands."

While Ventura further asserted that Combs "punched, beat, kicked, and stomped" her, his legal team provided a statement to Fox News in which they denied any wrongdoing on the part of their client.

The attorneys maintained that "Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations" while insisting that he was the victim of a blackmail attempt.

Ventura dropped lawsuit

"For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail," they wrote.

"Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday," the lawyers insisted.

However, Fox News noted that Ventura quickly dropped her lawsuit, declaring, "I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support."

Combs confirmed the news, saying, "We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love."
