Former CBS reporter calls on network to release full VP Harris interview transcript

Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democrat who struggles to answer basic questions in front of a camera without laughing or babbling on about irrelevant topics, caught a major break from her pals at CBS earlier this week.

The network has come under intense pressure to release the full interview of Harris' "60 Minutes" interview, which it edited to make her seem not as dumb as she appears to be.

According to the New York Post, the network has remained silent on the matter, but it wasn't so long ago that the network was quick to release transcripts of its full interview with former President Donald Trump.

Ex-CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge told the outlet that there's "precedent" for CBS to release the full interview transcript, as it did with Trump.

What's going on?

Herridge, who was let go by CBS after she began investigating the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, held nothing back in an X post in explaining why she believes CBS can release the full transcript.

She touched on recent news regarding the Trump campaign demanding that the network release the full interview.

"As Trump campaign calls on @60Minutes to release “full, unedited transcript” of Kamala Harris interview... There is precedent. When I interviewed then President Trump in July 2020 @CBSNews we posted the interview transcript. This is more complete and NOT the same as a transcript of the edited TV report," Herridge wrote.

Herridge added, "It's about transparency and standing behind the integrity of the final edit."

The Post indicated that it had received nothing in response when it asked CBS if it plans to release Harris' full interview.

Edited versions

When Harris was asked by host Bill Whitaker a question about the Israel-Hamas conflict and the Biden-Harris administration's response, her answer was awkward and drawn out, complete with pauses and nonsensical wording.

That version of the answer was aired in a teaser on "Face the Nation," but a shortened, cleaner answer was aired during the actual "60 Minutes" interview.

Social media users quickly caught CBS very obviously editing the clip to make Harris look less bad.

Not only did it not work, it has now opened a whole new can of worms. Some believe that such edits could be considered election interference.
