Amid the ongoing California wildfires, there were concerns that a former WWE had gone missing.

Now, however, Fox News reports that the star - known as Melina - has been found, and she is reported to be "safe."

For those unfamiliar with Melina, she was a World Wrestling Entertainment superstar, having won the Women's championship. She remains popular among fans to this day, as many have been pushing for her to make a return to professional wrestling.

She is also a native of Los Angeles, California, which is being ravished by the wildfires.

What happened?

Reports were released indicating that Melina may be missing in the wildfires. The concern was first raised by the independent wrestling promotion A Matter of Pride Wrestling.

It wrote:

The group released this message through its X account on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025.

Outlets subsequently reported that "fans had come together to pray that the former Women's Champion was found or made contact after she went missing."

For a time, there was radio silence from Melania, but that recently came to an end.

"We are relieved to share..."

The following day, on Sunday - Jan. 12, 2025 - A Matter of Pride Wrestling once again took to its X account to provide an update on the situation with Melania, and the update was a positive one.

The group wrote:

Wrestling fans also expressed their relief at hearing the news that Melina is "safe."

Now, for fans, it will be back to trying to get Melina to return to wrestling. Fox reports:

Melina . . . burst onto the WWE scene when she appeared on "Tough Enough" in 2002 in hopes of earning a roster spot. While she didn’t win the spot, she later was the valet for the MNM tag team of Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury. She had a successful singles run as she was the WWE Women’s Champion three times and the WWE Divas Champion twice. Perez also competed for the National Wrestling Alliance and TNA Wrestling. She wrestled from 2001 to 2021.
