Fox News confronts Trump about 'MAGA voter's anger over prices'
Fox News just confronted President Donald Trump about the supposed anger of "MAGA voters" over prices.
This, according to the Daily Beast, took place during an interview that Trump did with Bret Baier on Wednesday.
This comes as President Trump and the White House have been vigorously pushing back on the Democrats' narrative that Americans are suffering as a result of Trump's economic policies.
Don't fall for the propaganda. Here are today's grocery prices for eggs, milk, chicken and bread and they can be verified on Amazon and delivered fresh anywhere in the country:
Dozen Eggs: $2.22
Gallon Milk: $2.69
1.25 Pounds Chicken Thighs $2.86
Sliced Sandwich Bread $2.49… pic.twitter.com/RyWWL7HBYg— Commentary Donald J. Trump Posts From Truth Social (@TrumpDailyPosts) November 6, 2025
"What do you say to...?"
Baier, during the interview, confronted Trump with a message from one of his voters, a North Carolina retiree named Regina Foley.
Foley said:
I want the Republicans to keep control of Congress in 2026, but something HAS to be done fast! I don’t see the best economy right now—Wall Street numbers do not reflect my Main Street money. Please do something, President Trump.
Baier then asked Trump what he would say to someone like Foley.
The president replied:
I do say this. Beef we have to get down. I think of groceries—you know, it’s an old fashion word but it’s a beautiful word. Beef we have to get down, but we’ve got prices way down and think of this: energy. She drives a car, probably, and her energy prices are way down. And energy is so all-encompassing. It’s so big that when energy goes down everything comes down. Everything follows it. And I have energy down to five or six-year lows now.
Trump went on to say, "I think the biggest problem is Republicans don’t talk about it. They don’t talk about the word ‘affordability,’ and the Democrats lie about it."
The Democrats' "con job"
Trump, following the recent state elections, argued that Democrats are essentially trying to hijack the cost-of-living issue, which one would think would easily be in Trump and Republicans' favor.
Trump said:
We are the ones that have done a great job with affordability, not the Democrats, and yet we lost a couple of elections in Democrat areas. They weren't very Democrat when I ran a year ago. But we just lost an election, they said, based on affordability. It's a con job by the Democrats.
Both Trump and the White House have been working to get this narrative back in their favor. You can see above the message that Trump posted to social media, highlighting the decrease in the price of several common items of food.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has also released a lengthy statement detailing the economic success that Trump has already accomplished, in terms of affordability. She, in part, wrote:
The price of eggs, butter, ice cream, fresh fruit, cereal, fish, seafood, rice, pasta, and ham are all falling. And the best is yet to come. President Trump’s pro-growth policies are a proven formula to Make America Affordable Again. They worked in his first term, and they are slowly but surely working now. It’s the Democrats’ radical policies that create UNAFFORDABILITY - just look at the cost-of-living in California and New York!
