Gov. Newsom deploying 'crime suppression teams' across state
While many high-profile Democrats are still attempting to gaslight the public into believing that soaring crime across the country -- especially in blue states -- isn't happening, some of them are at least partially admitting that President Donald Trump is right.
According to The Hill, that was proven in a big way this week as California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) reportedly has deployed "crime suppression teams" across the state at the same time the Trump administration utilizes National Guard troops in Washington D.C. to help police catch the bad guys.
Of course, the governor didn't admit that such measures were necessary or that Trump was right about rising crime, but rather used the maneuver to position himself as a leader doing things the right way instead of "undermining" U.S. cities.
California, like other blue states, has some of the worst crime rates in the nation.
What's going on?
Gov. Newsom and his team put out a press release announcing the program while taking shots at the president and his administration in the same breath.
"When the state and local communities work together strategically, public safety improves. While the Trump Administration undermines cities, California is partnering with them — and delivering real results," the press release read.
It added, "With these new deployments, we’re doubling down on these partnerships to build on progress and keep driving crime down."
Essentially, Newsom will use members of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to work with county and local police officials to crack down on crime.
Again, Newsom politically exploited the moment by suggesting that his approach was better than the president's.

Social media reaction
Users across the political spectrum reacted to Newsom's latest idea.
"Let me tell you, you keep riding on Trump's tail, you won't win. No one wants to hear you talk about Trump. They want to hear you do something worthwhile. You could start with DOING something with CA," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "Tell us again how you spend tax dollars on illegals without the permission of the tax payers. You know the people you screw over? The same ones that are leaving?"
Only time will tell if his Trump-like plan will work.
