Hunter Biden may have caught a break from the news cycle over the past month due to his father dropping out of the presidential race, but breaking reports put the light back on him over the weekend. 

According to the Daily Caller, in the wake of being found guilty on three felony-level gun charges, Hunter Biden's next legal hurdle will be his sentencing hearing, which has now been formally set.

U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika announced over the weekend that Hunter's sentencing is set for November 13, which happens to be a week after the general election.

The junior Biden was found guilty in June by a Delaware jury "relating to his purchase of a revolver while addicted to drugs."

Hunter Biden's trial went a little faster than some legal observers expected, and many believed that the jury would not ultimately find him guilty.

Some of the evidence used during the trial came from his infamous laptop, which was packed full of incriminating evidence including emails and photos that convinced a jury he was guilty of the crimes with which he was charged.

The Daily Caller noted:

During the trial, prosecutors called 10 witnesses, including Hunter Biden’s ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, his ex-girlfriend Zoe Kestan and the widow of his late brother Beau Biden, Hallie Biden.

President Joe Biden has gone on the record in saying that he would not use his presidential executive powers to pardon or commute whatever sentence his son faces, which could be up to 25 years if given the maximum penalties.

However, that was while he was still a candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Now that he's out of the race, some believe he will ultimately save his son from doing any serious time, if not pardon him altogether.

Hunter Biden's legal troubles do not end with the gun case, however.

Last December, Hunter Biden was indicted on several tax-related charges in California. A judge set a September 5 start date for that trial, which could land the president's son in more hot water.

Only time will tell if Hunter Biden is ultimately pardoned by his father.
